I did this piece in 3 weeks as an art test. It is heavily inspired by the Alien franchise as the task was to make a medbay with equipment in that kind of a setting.
I used Unreal Engine 4 as the engine. Maya for the main bulk of the modeling and the master materials where created in Substance Designer. I used the face weighted Normals workflow with a master decal texture for all the normal details, as done in Star Citizen, discussed in this thread here: http://polycount.com/discussion/155894/decal-technique-from-star-citizen/p1. So no meshes in the environment except for the table has a normal map.
I got to give a huge thanks to Regin Møller for help with lighting and pushing this piece further than I could have done with the limited knowledge of environment design.
